ADA notice to DPS employees and applicants for employment

The Department of Public Safety (DPS) values diversity and inclusion in our workplaces. We do not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities in hiring or employment practices, in accord with Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and related regulations.

What kinds of accommodations are and are not available?

DPS provides reasonable accommodations so qualified employees and job applicants with disabilities can:

  • Participate fully in the job application process.
  • Perform essential job duties effectively.
  • Access all benefits of DPS employment.

DPS may deny a request for accommodation if it would cause "undue hardship.” Undue hardship means that a requested accommodation would be excessively expensive, require significant modifications, or fundamentally change the way the department operates.
