Who has to Register?

You can read a full list of the offenses that Minnesota law says require registering as a predatory offender. You can read the law that describes the list of requirements for predatory offenders, as well as some additional offenses that may require registration.

Get Information on People in the Minnesota Predatory Offender Registry

Under Minnesota law, information about people who are required to register is not public, with two exceptions:

Non-Compliant Registrants

Registrants are required to follow a list of rules identified in Minnesota law. If they don’t, they are considered non-compliant registrants. Information about non-compliant registrants who are over age 16 and have been non-compliant for more than 30 days is available on the Predatory Offender Registry – Non-compliant website. Under Minnesota law, this information is limited to information to assist in locating the non-compliant registrant.

Risk Levels and Community Notification

The Department of Corrections is responsible for assigning risk levels, facilitating community notifications for certain offenders, and publishing certain information about registrants who are subject to public notification under Minnesota law.
